Description The Instructional Designer II designs, creates, and produces both instructor-led and e-learning courses that are contextually-rich and apply sound instructional design theories that focus on real-world, workplace skills for TBC Corporation. This position designs courses that emphasize adult learning concepts, active learning practices, and objectives-based instructional strategies that meet specific business needs. Deliverables include instructor led and e-learning courses, video tutorials, facilitator and participant guides, and self-study job aids. Job Responsibilites Propose, design, and develop instructor-led courses, e-learning courses, job aids, video tutorials, and other training materials Ensure learning solutions incorporate best practices in adult learning theory Participate in discovery meetings and conduct interviews with stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and project teams Outline training plans to help associates acquire the necessary skills to effectively do their jobs Incorporate best practices and real-world scenarios into instructional materials to effectively address performance issues Create storyboards, author and develop e-learning content and blended learning solutions Create graphics, animations, and videos for e-learning courses Create interactive or animated graphics and videos using a variety of tools including Adobe Creative Cloud and Camtasia Use e-learning authoring tools including Articulate 360 authoring apps and Adobe Captivate Build and maintain a team effort consistent with the goals of the company Participate in instructional design knowledge sharing sessions Works collaboratively in a team environment Maintains knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and emergent technologies in the instructional design industry. Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 3-5 years of experience designing instruction and applying principles of adult learning theories and methodologies to assessment, development, delivery, and evaluation Familiar with advanced concepts, practices, and procedures within the instructional design field Knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation, learner-centered activities, and Kirkpatrick’s Model of evaluation Experience designing assessments to measure transfer of learning Understanding of the instructional design process and methods (ADDIE, Successive Approximation Model (SAM), Systems Approach Model, Instructional Design Plan) Experience designing and developing instructor-led courses, e-learning, and blended learning solutions, and other multimedia products Strong project management experience Ability to be creative, flexible, and innovative with course design to create engaging course content Experience using Microsoft Office Proficient using Articulate 360 authoring apps in the development of e-learning courses Experience with graphic design packages (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, and other modern design tools) Proficient in the use of video and audio editing software (Camtasia, SnagIt, Audacity) Strong professional writing skills Customer service orientation and a high level of professional integrity Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks Occasional travel with the ability to work a flexible schedule Ability to learn new software applications and concepts as needed Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
