The Product Accounting Team is a dynamic and fast paced corporate services department that is responsible for accurately recording inventory purchases for TBC Corporation and related divisions.  The Product Accounting Supervisor will guide and coordinate the activities of the Product Accounting Process Teams including: team building, staff development, coaching, training, recruiting/hiring, performance metrics, month end close functions, process improvements, policy review/development, and other projects and initiatives as necessary. 

  

As a Product Accounting Supervisor you will need to have the ability to motivate and manage teams, initiate and manage projects, maintain quality measures by establishing and enforcing standards, design of forward thinking initiatives, development and implementation of new process, procedures, and automation.  This position requires a positive attitude, high level of leadership, effective communication, flexibility, and self-motivation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervision of Product Accounting Staff, providing guidance in efforts around problem solving and troubleshooting, and collaborating with other teams

  • Guide and mentor the product accounting process teams in the efforts to continuously improve knowledge, existing process and procedures, department standards and team effectiveness

  • Set frequent check-ins with associates and leadership team for feedback, coaching, goals & objectives, development, and overall performance

  • Maintain a positive attitude and office professionalism

  • Constantly strive for ways to improve yourself, your team, your department, and your company

    Maintain procedures and controls for validation of department inflow streams (invoices, PO’s, ledger postings, etc.)

  • Oversee the processing of invoices, credit memos, debit adjustments for product purchases

  • Become a subject matter expert on department processes in order to troubleshoot and assist the team with questions. 

  • Develop key performance indicators, reporting and communicate results to the leadership team

  • Document, analyze and provide recommendations for improvement of company processes

  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in the concentration of Management, Finance or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of recent supervisory experience with multiple direct reports
  • Excellent communication skills including giving and receiving feedback
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, coaching, conflict resolution, and motivational skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, conceptual, diagnostic, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Experience developing KPI's, reporting, and communicating results
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with deadline
  • Ability to effectively communicate and train staff with different learning styles
  • Excellent PC Skills, including high level of proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Access, and Word
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • In depth knowledge of P2P Process including purchase orders, inventory, goods receipts, general accounting, invoicing, vendor receivables, and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficient in SAP accounting systems
