About the Company
Our client is a second-generation, family-owned specialty distributor with a nationwide customer base and decades of continuous growth. The company carries a portfolio of proprietary and exclusive brand lines across multiple product categories serving outdoor power, agricultural, construction, and industrial end markets. They hold exclusive U.S. distribution rights for multiple international manufacturers, operate a growing private-label program, and run factory-direct container programs that give customers a meaningful pricing and supply advantage over competitors relying on traditional import channels.
The Role
As the Sr. Business Development Manager, you will own an established portfolio of distributor and dealer accounts and serve as the primary relationship contact for key strategic partners. You will connect with buyers regularly to drive growth, plan seasonal programs, and deepen long-term partnerships.
You will also proactively build pipeline and close new large-distributor and dealer relationships rather than waiting for inbound opportunities. A core component of this role is factory-direct container program selling, which requires comfort discussing landed cost economics, freight dynamics, and global supply chain timing with sophisticated buyers.
You will represent the company at trade shows and industry events, presenting confidently at the executive level and fielding questions on tariffs, ocean freight, and market conditions without hesitation.
This position reports directly to the President, and you will have genuine input into strategy as the business continues to grow.
Location and Travel
This role is remote. Candidates based in the St. Louis, MO area will work on-site. Travel is 20% to 40%.
